Type Locality and Naming

It was named by Hu Zejing in 1982. The type section is located at Beishan, Shuangjinzi, Xiaochengzi Township, about 60 km south by east of the Linxi County in the Nei Mongol Zizhiqu. The reference section is at Yinmotaohe, Xiaochengzi Township, approximately 55 km south by west of the Linxi County.

Synonym: (双井子组)


Lithology and Thickness

The formation consists of amphibole plagioclase gneiss, biotite gneiss interbedded with monzo-gneiss and marble lenses. It is the oldest strata exposed in the area. The formation is 803-1367 m in thickness in the area.

Lower contact

The base of this formation is not yet observed.

Upper contact

The formation is conformable overlain by the Shuiquangou Fm

Regional extent

The formation is exposed only in the area along Xar Moron River, south of Linxi County.
